Atlanta Radiesse® Injections

Once we hit our 20s, our body’s collagen production begins to decrease by 1 to 2% per year, causing skin to gradually lose volume. We’re all familiar with these effects: fine lines, crepey skin, wrinkles, and facial folds can begin to show up. Radiesse® helps minimize the effects of aging by replenishing lost volume for long-lasting rejuvenation.

What is Radiesse?

Radiesse is made of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHa) microspheres, which are suspended in a gel. CaHa is a naturally-occurring substance made of minerals (phosphate and calcium) found primarily in our bones.

Radiesse is FDA-approved to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles & folds and treat facial fat loss.

How does Radiesse work?

Once injected, the gel immediately goes to work filling in lines and wrinkles, while the CaHa particles are gradually absorbed into the skin. These particles stimulate your body’s natural collagen production and act as a scaffold, proving the structure for your skin’s collagen to grow. The result? Smoother, firmer, more youthful-looking skin that improves over the following months.

What can Radiesse treat?

Radiesse is effective at treating the following:

  • Nasolabial folds (running between the nose and mouth)
  • Marionette lines (running between the mouth and chin)
  • Sunken cheeks
  • Crepey skin on the hands

A diluted form of Radiesse can also be used to add volume to the buttocks without surgery, a procedure known as an injectable butt lift.

How long does Radiesse last?

The collagen-stimulating effects of Radiesse typically last between 12 to 18 months, with some patients enjoying results for up to 2 years. Because the CaHa particles are biocompatible with your tissues, they are gradually absorbed by your body, leaving your collagen in its place once they’re gone.

When will I see my results?

Radiesse results are visible immediately, with full results appearing within a week. Most patients continue to notice gradual skin improvements over the following months as their collagen production increases.

Radiesse treatment and recovery

Radiesse treatments are performed in-office and typically take no longer than 15 minutes. You will be given a local anesthetic to avoid any pain or discomfort.

You can go home immediately after your appointment, making Radiesse the perfect lunchtime treatment. You should refrain from intense physical activity and avoid direct sunlight exposure for the first 24 hours following treatment.

How often will I need Radiesse injections?

We recommend patients receive follow-up injections every 2 years to maintain optimal results.
