An attractive nose can help balance your facial features and improve your overall appearance, as well as correct certain breathing problems. Whether you are looking to improve the size, shape, and/or function of your nose, it's critical to choose a highly qualified Atlanta plastic surgeon for this demanding procedure.
Considering a nose job? Rhinoplasty with our experienced Atlanta plastic surgeons can help!
Perhaps you feel your nose is too large, too wide, too crooked, or too long. Injuries can also alter the shape of the nose in unwelcome ways, even causing breathing problems. If you wish you had a new nose, consider rhinoplasty in Atlanta to give your nose a more naturally attractive shape.
What is rhinoplasty?
The nose is the face’s most visible feature, and an overly large, crooked, or bulbous nose may draw unwanted attention and cause an imbalance in the face. Rhinoplasty is cosmetic surgery that reshapes and refines the nose to restore symmetry to the face, improving one’s appearance and self-confidence. Rhinoplasty can also correct a deviated septum and help improve breathing by opening the nasal passages. With computer imaging, our surgeons can even show you how your nose might look after surgery, helping you see what a difference this rewarding surgery can make!
What are my rhinoplasty options?
Since rhinoplasty can help make a number of desired changes in the nose’s shape and/or size, there are a variety of surgical techniques our plastic surgeons may use. Depending on your goals and anatomy, you may undergo one of the following types of rhinoplasty:
Closed rhinoplasty: incisions are inside the nostrils, and adjustments are made internally
Open rhinoplasty: used for more complex procedures
Tip plasty: reserved for cases where only the tip of the nose needs correcting (e.g. to correct a bulbous or sharp nose tip)
Rhinoplasty is an outpatient procedure, so you will be able to go home shortly after surgery. Your nose will be bandaged with a splint placed around it, and there may be some gauze packing inside the nose. This can be somewhat uncomfortable, but it is temporary (usually about 1 week). You’ll want to rest after surgery, but you are encouraged to get up and walk around frequently.
Post-operative pain can be managed with prescription medication, which many patients only need for a few days before switching to over-the-counter alternatives.
Everyone there made me feel so comfortable and honestly I am so blessed I couldn’t have wished for more as this is my very first time dealing with plastic surgery! So to say the least I was super nervous to even coming to consultation! My Rhinoplasty experience couldn’t have gone better! Thank you all!
While post-operative bruising and swelling from rhinoplasty can persist for up to 1 month, the typical timeframe for getting back to work or school is 10-14 days, and non-contact exercise can be gradually resumed beginning about 3 weeks after surgery.
How long will it take to see my rhinoplasty results?
The majority of your bruising and swelling should subside after 2-3 weeks, at which point most patients feel comfortable being in public. Full results from rhinoplasty can usually be seen within 3 months of surgery, with results continuing to improve for up to 12 months. (Most of the swelling that persists during this final 9-month period is usually confined to the nasal tip due to its thick skin).
How much does rhinoplasty cost in Atlanta?
At the Swan Center in Atlanta, rhinoplasty costs between $6,900 and $10,000, depending on your plastic surgeon and the extent of your procedure. You can get a more precise quote for your rhinoplasty during a personal consultation with one of our board certified plastic surgeons.
