Atlanta Dysport Injections

Smooth Expression-Based Wrinkles

logo-dysport-large-newWhen it comes to smoothing out wrinkles on the brow and around the eyes, BOTOX® Cosmetic is a household name. But did you know there are other products that use the same active ingredients to achieve equally impressive results? Dysport® is an FDA-approved, botulinum toxin type A injectable that stops wrinkles by temporarily halting the movement of underlying muscles.

How Dysport Works

Like BOTOX, Dysport works by temporarily affecting the movement of underlying facial muscles. When expertly injected into specific muscles on your brow or around your eyes, Dysport effectively interrupts communication between your nerves and muscles, causing your muscles to relax movement and allowing your wrinkles to smooth out.

After treatment, you’ll look more youthful and well-rested—and your results will look natural, not “frozen.” You should begin seeing positive changes within a day or two. The effects of Dysport are temporary, with results typically lasting between four to six months.

BOTOX vs. Dysport

While both BOTOX and Dysport use the same active molecule (botulinum toxin type A), there are a few distinct differences between the two products. The biggest difference between BOTOX and Dysport is the size of the molecule in the solution, how deep the injections are placed, and the amount of non-toxic proteins surrounding the botulinum toxin molecule.

So what does that mean for you?

  1. Because Dysport has fewer proteins surrounding the active ingredients, your results should start taking shape a bit sooner.
  2. Dysport molecules are smaller than BOTOX, so your results may be more subtle and natural-looking when using Dysport.
  3. Typically, Dysport is injected more deeply than BOTOX, which means that the products spread more easily and can provide more comprehensive improvement.

Keep in mind that these differences may be subtle—depending on your needs, either BOTOX or Dysport can help you achieve a more youthful look and may even be used in conjunction to enhance your results.

How Much Does Dysport Cost?

The price of Dysport per unit is between $4 to $6, making it about half the cost per unit of BOTOX. Typically, the cost of Dysport for one treatment area is around $300-$400. Keep in mind that one unit of BOTOX is between 2.5 to 3 units of Dysport, so the average price for your complete treatment will be similar to either product depending on your individual needs.

These are cost estimates and the final price may vary per patient depending on their specific concerns and ultimate goals. A more specific fee quote will be provided when you schedule your treatment!
