Atlanta Breast Augmentation

Enhance your already gorgeous curves with a variety of options, proven safe and effective, to get a look you’ll love. Breast augmentation can also help if you have one breast that is noticeably smaller than the other (breast asymmetry).

Breast augmentation will increase your breast size, as well as improve the shape of your breasts. Many women say they feel much more proportionate in their clothing and swimsuits after having breast augmentation surgery.

Your Complimentary Breast Augmentation Consultation

All aspects of your desired outcome will be discussed during your personalized consultation. The key to success is working with an experienced, board certified plastic surgeon who will answer any questions you may have regarding breast augmentation and the latest techniques and enhancement options available. Our team will work together with you to personalize the procedure to fit your individual needs and desired results.

Now, let’s discuss your body shape and the curves you are wanting! Your current breast size, along with your desired outcome, is all taken into account as you discuss options and make decisions with your doctor. Our surgeons here at The Swan Center work closely with their patients to help determine the best approach for breast augmentation, this includes silicone or saline breast implants or fat transfer to the breast.

Every woman is unique, and so careful consideration must be given to the individual patient and desired outcome. Additional techniques and procedures may be discussed, including breast lift, to help achieve your desired look.

If you are considering breast augmentation in Atlanta or any other related procedures, The Swan Center for Plastic Surgery wants to help you explore your options.

Breast implant options

Today, there are three different general types of breast enhancement options available to women. At our practice, we offer all three. This means patients have more options to ensure safe, beautiful surgical results and the tools to achieve each individual’s aesthetic goals.

Dr. Bauer listened to all my concerns and really paid attention to what I asked for. I am so satisfied with the way my breasts look – even only 2 months after surgery they are healing great and look so natural.

Silicone breast implants

Next-generation silicone implants have been available since 2005. These implants are manufactured using a silicone shell filled with a cohesive silicone gel. Many patients consider silicone implants to have the most natural look and feel, more closely resembling natural breast tissue.

Silicone implants can give a fuller, more natural appearance. Incision site and placement are dependent on your natural anatomy, implant choice, and personal goals, and are based on your discussions in your consultation with your board certified plastic surgeon.

We offer a full range of Mentor breast implants. They are made in the United States and have an exceptional safety record.

Patients love silicone implants because they keep their shape so nicely and look and feel like real breast tissue. They also come in a range of sizes, projections, and composition, such as ultra-cohesive, i.e. gummy bear implants. With modern silicone implants, you are also unhindered from standard radiology procedures as they will not affect routine mammograms, ultrasound, or MRIs. Although unlikely, any changes to your implants will be seen during routine imaging.

Saline breast implants

Saline implants are comprised of an outer silicone shell that is filled with saline, a sterile saltwater solution. This option offers greater flexibility with surgical incisions and placement. Saline implants are filled after insertion, allowing for the smallest incisions of all the implant options. Saline implants work best for patients who already have a fair amount of natural breast tissue. Although rupture is unlikely, the sterile saline solution is safely absorbed by your body and saline breast implants are also unaffected by routine imaging.

Fat Transfer to the Breast

Did you know you can enhance the appearance of your breasts without breast implants? In the hands of one of our experienced plastic surgeons, fat transfer to the breasts is a safe option for giving your breasts a naturally fuller, more shapely look. Essentially, fat transfer is exactly what it sounds like: fat is taken from one area of your body and used to enhance another area. Fat transfer to the breast involves re-injecting fat strategically into the breast to provide a fuller, more shapely appearance.

Dr. Cat and the nurses I’ve had the pleasure of working with through this whole process have been above and beyond incredible! From my first consult to each and every appointment following they have made it such an easy process. What breast implant is right for me?

Every woman has unique and specific aesthetic goals based on their individual preferences. Your complimentary consultation will also help you feel more informed about all of the breast enhancement options available.

From implant types to incision and placement, we believe that educating patients is a top priority and feel that our educational approach helps women make informed decisions. What is having breast surgery like?

First, you will receive anesthesia to ensure you are relaxed and will not experience any discomfort during the procedure. At The Swan Center, we use board certified anesthesiologists and recommend general anesthesia for breast augmentation so that you will be asleep throughout the procedure; most women find this much more comfortable.

You’ll wake up after the procedure and immediately notice your new shape. While you will be a bit sore and swollen, most of our patients report that post-surgical discomfort is minimal. Once you have had some time to rest in our relaxing recovery room, it’s time to get you home and cozy. Although this procedure is quick and performed out-patient, you will need to secure someone to drive you home and help you out for a day or two.

Recovery after breast augmentation

After surgery, all post-procedure supplies and garments for your recovery will have been provided—this alleviates any stress and allows you to focus on you! Light activities can be resumed as tolerated, and aerobic activities can be started in about 3 weeks. You can expect to be back at work in about 4 days. For final results, it will take up to 6 months for your breasts to fully settle. Be sure to follow the personalized post-op instructions we provide before surgery and call us with any questions!
