Your face is in constant motion: smiling, squinting, talking, laughing. Most dermal fillers weren't designed with that movement in mind. The RHA® Collection was.
As the first and only line of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers FDA-approved specifically for dynamic wrinkles, the RHA Collection is engineered to flex and move with your natural expressions. The result is a filler that looks natural not just in photos, but in real life. At The Swan Center in Alpharetta, our experienced nurse injectors offer the full RHA Collection to patients throughout the Atlanta area.
The RHA® Collection is a line of resilient hyaluronic acid (RHA) dermal fillers manufactured by Teoxane, a Swiss company with more than 20 years of expertise in HA science. The collection includes four distinct formulations, each designed for a specific level of correction and depth of injection: RHA Redensity, RHA 2, RHA 3 and RHA Dynamic Volume (formerly RHA 4).
Like all hyaluronic acid fillers, RHA products work by adding volume beneath the skin to smooth wrinkles, restore fullness and refine facial contours. What sets RHA apart is how it’s manufactured and how it performs once injected.
What Makes RHA Fillers Different?
Most HA fillers are made with a crosslinking process that stiffens the gel, so it holds its shape under the skin. That stiffness can work against you in areas of high movement, where rigid filler resists the natural pull of facial expressions and can look unnatural.
RHA fillers are made using a gentle, heatless manufacturing process that helps preserve the natural structure of HA, so it more closely resembles the HA found in your skin. The result is a more pliable, adaptable gel that stretches and recovers with each facial movement. RHA fillers are the first and only HA fillers to receive FDA approval specifically for the correction of dynamic wrinkles, including vertical lip lines and nasolabial folds.
As of August 2025, the RHA Collection has been reformulated with mepivacaine, a local anesthetic that is now used instead of lidocaine. It’s the first major anesthetic change in hyaluronic acid fillers in nearly two decades, and early data suggest it may cause less localized bruising due to reduced vasodilation at the injection site.
What Areas Can RHA Fillers Treat?
The RHA Collection is FDA-approved for treating:
Dynamic facial wrinkles and folds (moderate to severe)
Nasolabial folds (smile lines)
Perioral rhytids (lip lines)
Lip augmentation
Cheeks and midface volume loss
Experienced providers may also use RHA products off-label for under-eye hollows, crepey skin on the neck or chest, hand rejuvenation, and in other areas where a dynamic, movement-adapted filler is appropriate. During your consultation, your injector will evaluate your anatomy and the specific movements and expressions that are contributing to your concerns, then recommend the right product (or combination of products!) for your goals.
What to Expect During Your RHA Treatment
Your RHA appointment at The Swan Center Med Spa follows the same comfortable process as other injectable treatments. Your provider will start with a thorough assessment of your facial anatomy and the areas you’d like to address, then map the injection sites. The treatment area is cleansed before your injector administers the filler into targeted areas using a fine needle.
Because every product in the RHA Collection contains mepivacaine, a fast-acting local anesthetic, most patients find the injection process quite tolerable. Treatments usually take about 30 minutes, depending on how many areas are being addressed. Afterward, you’re free to return home and resume your normal routine, but we do recommend avoiding strenuous exercise, heat exposure, and alcohol for 24 to 48 hours to let the filler settle properly.
How Soon Will I See Results?
RHA fillers produce immediate effects. Volume is restored and lines are softened as soon as the product is placed. Over the following one to two weeks, any swelling or minor bruising will fully resolve, and the filler will integrate with surrounding tissue to reveal your final results.
Although RHA fillers are considered long-lasting, longevity can vary by product and the area treated. RHA 2 and RHA 3 typically last 12 to 15 months, while RHA Dynamic Volume, used in deeper structural tissue like the cheeks, can last up to 15 months or longer. As with all HA fillers, individual metabolism, facial expressiveness, and lifestyle all influence how long results last.
Meet Our Experienced Nurse Injectors
Choosing an RHA provider comes down to one thing: anatomical knowledge.Understanding where each product in the collection belongs, including the correct tissue plane and ideal depth, is what separates results that look natural in motion from those that do not. Jordan Dupree, AGPCNP-C, Victoria Armistead, RN, BSN, and Natalie Jackson, RN, have built that knowledge working directly alongside The Swan Center’s board-certified plastic surgeons. It’s a training environment that few med spa injectors ever get access to, and it shows in our results.

Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the difference between RHA 2, RHA 3 and RHA Dynamic Volume?
The RHA Collection includes several formulas designed for different levels of facial volume loss. The main difference between RHA 2, RHA 3, and RHA Dynamic Volume is the thickness and strength of the gel, which determines where it’s typically used in the face:
RHA 2 is the softest formula. It’s commonly used for moderate dynamic wrinkles and delicate areas, such as fine lines around the mouth or subtle lip enhancement.
RHA 3 is slightly firmer and provides more support for moderate to deeper facial lines, including nasolabial folds and lines around the corners of the mouth.
RHA Dynamic Volume is the most robust formula. It’s designed for deeper wrinkles and structural volume, and may be used to enhance areas like the cheeks, jawline, or deeper folds in the lower face.
How long do RHA fillers last?
Most RHA fillers last about 12 to 15 months, depending on the area treated and the exact product used. Results tend to last longer than many traditional fillers in high-movement areas like the mouth because the formula is designed to adapt to facial movement.
Are RHA fillers good for smile lines?
Yes. RHA fillers are specifically designed to treat dynamic wrinkles and folds, including nasolabial folds (commonly called smile lines). Several formulations in the RHA collection, including RHA 2, RHA 3, and RHA Dynamic Volume, are FDA-approved for smile lines.
Who is a good candidate for RHA fillers?
Good candidates are adults who want to treat dynamic wrinkles or volume loss while maintaining natural facial movement. RHA fillers are often ideal for patients concerned about looking stiff or “overdone.”
Are RHA fillers better than Juvéderm or Botox?
RHA filler isn’t necessarily “better” than Juvéderm or Botox. Each treatment works differently and is designed to address different types of wrinkles and facial changes. The best option depends on what concern you want to treat.
RHA and Juvéderm are both hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal fillers, meaning they restore volume and smooth wrinkles by adding support beneath the skin. Botox, on the other hand, is a neuromodulator that relaxes the muscles that create expression lines.
