DEMO 03: Atlanta Breast Lift

Restore a Youthful Appearance to Your Breasts

Being happy with your breasts is a wonderful feeling every woman should experience. Unfortunately, time, aging, pregnancy, and weight fluctuation can all take a toll on the shape and position of your breasts—including reduced volume in the upper breast, sagging skin, and downward-facing nipples.

If you’re concerned with drooping breasts, breast lift surgery may be a great option for lifting and reshaping your breasts.

Am I a Good Candidate for a Breast Lift?

Ask yourself the following questions:

  • Am I unhappy with the way my breasts look after pregnancy, weight changes, or aging?
  • Have I lost fullness in my upper breast?
  • Are my breasts droopy, sagging, or deflated looking?
  • Do my nipples point downward, past my breast fold?
  • Do my breasts look uneven?
  • Would I like to restore a more shapely, perkier appearance to my breasts?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, you may be a great candidate for breast lift surgery. It’s important to speak with a board certified plastic surgeon experienced in breast enhancement procedures to determine which options are best suited to your needs and desired results. You may be surprised to learn you would benefit more from breast augmentation or a combination of both procedures.

Your Atlanta Breast Lift Surgery

Your breast lift will be performed on an outpatient basis at our on-site accredited surgical suite. You will be placed under general anesthesia by a board certified anesthesiologist before your procedure. Depend on your unique needs and the severity of sagging you would like corrected, your surgeon will recommend one of the following techniques:

Crescent Lift

The crescent lift is a good choice for correcting minimal sagging. Your surgeon will make a single incision along the top edge of the areola, where it will be completely hidden by the natural pigment of your skin. This method is often used when a breast implant is also being placed.

Peri-Areolar Lift

We often suggest the peri-areolar or “doughnut” lift if you have only mild sagging but could still see great results from a lift. This technique requires an incision around the entire outer edge of the areola, like the shape of a doughnut. The resulting scar is barely visible.

Vertical Lift

Also known as the “lollipop” lift, this incision technique is often recommended for correcting moderate sagging in patients who require more extensive reshaping of the breast. Your surgeon will make an incision both around the outside edge of your areola and also vertically from the edge of the areola to your natural breast crease, similar to the shape of a lollipop.

Anchor Lift

This technique is typically only recommended for patients who require more dramatic reshaping to improve significant breast drooping. For this technique, three incisions will be placed: one around the edges of the areola, one from the bottom of the areola to the inframammary fold, and one horizontally along the breast crease, in the shape of an anchor.

Whichever type of breast lift is recommended for you, your surgeon will remove extra skin, reshape your breast contour, and lift the breast to a more youthful position. In some cases, the position of your nipple areolar complex may also be moved higher to complement your new, youthful breast shape.

Recovery & Aftercare

When your procedure is complete and you have fully recovered from the general anesthesia, you will be able to return home with a designated driver. You should take it easy for a few days, though we also encourage you to walk for around 30 minutes daily. You will experience some tenderness and swelling, though discomfort is easily managed with prescription pain medication. Reaching and stretching should be limited for up to three weeks, though normal, non-strenuous activity can be resumed within seven to ten days.

You should notice an immediate improvement in the shape and position of your breasts as swelling recedes, with final results appearing over the course of about six months.
