Are you in good health but struggle with cellulite rippling on your rear? You’re not alone; in fact, cellulite affects roughly 90% of all women. If that wasn’t bad enough, cellulite can worsen with weight gain but usually doesn’t improve with weight loss or exercise—meaning those squats likely won’t cure your booty dimples.
Until now, the only available cellulite treatments have required surgery or lasers. But with QWO®, you can say goodbye to embarrassing cellulite dimples in just a few easy, non-invasive treatments! We are excited to offer QWO to our female Atlanta patients struggling with cellulite.
QWO is the first FDA-approved injectable treatment that reduces the appearance of cellulite dimpling in the buttocks. QWO is a combination of naturally occurring collagenases that are injected directly into your cellulite dimples. Once injected, QWO immediately goes to work breaking down types 1 & 3 collagen that cause cellulite dimpling in the buttocks.
Over time, the collagen bands (a.k.a. fibrous septae) connecting the skin to its underlying tissues can strengthen and pull the skin downwards, pushing fat upwards against the skin and creating the depressions known as cellulite dimples. Cellulite is much more common among women than men because women have thinner skin, and when their collagen bands thicken, the dimpling is more pronounced.
QWO is ideal for adult women of all ages, colors, and body types who are in relatively good health but struggle with cellulite in the buttocks. You may not be a good candidate for QWO if you are allergic to collagenase, have an infection in your buttocks, or plan to use QWO to lose weight.
QWO is currently approved to treat cellulite in the buttocks of adult women.
QWO treatment is similar to other cosmetic injectables, like Botox or fillers. During a treatment visit, one of our board certified plastic surgeons or nurse aestheticians will administer a series of QWO injections in your bottom. For most patients, this is about 12 injections, but your exact amount will depend on the extent of your cellulite.
Some patients see cellulite improvement from just a single QWO treatment, but for full results, we recommend you complete 3 treatments spaced 3 weeks apart. There is no anesthesia required, as the injections are virtually painless. The procedure is finished within 30 minutes, after which you’ll be able to continue with your day.
We do recommend you avoid strenuous exercise for the first few days after your treatment to avoid bruising. Let your surgeon know if you experience any severe swelling or pain after your treatment.
To determine the safety and efficacy of QWO, the largest clinical trials in the history of cellulite investigation in the U.S. were conducted. These trials found that QWO was able to significantly (and safely) smooth the appearance of cellulite dimpling.
Like all cosmetic treatments, it’s important to have realistic expectations. QWO can significantly reduce, but not completely erase, cellulite.
Other available cellulite treatments, like Cellfina® and Cellulaze™, also work by severing the fibrous septae bands that cause cellulite dimpling, however, these treatments rely on a blade or a laser. QWO’s collagenase formula loosens septae bands without incisions or lasers, making it a far less invasive treatment that requires almost no downtime.
While QWO is effective at reducing the appearance of cellulite, it’s not a skin tightening or weight loss treatment. For this reason, we recommend pairing your QWO treatment with liposuction or CoolSculpting to eliminate stubborn fat pockets in the lower body.
At The Swan Center in Atlanta, we believe all women should feel comfortable and confident in their skin. To learn more about QWO injectable cellulite treatment, contact us online or call (770) 667-0904 to schedule your personal consultation.
