Dr. Bauer graduated with cum laude honors from Loyola College and was inducted into the National Biology Honor Society. He then graduated from Emory University Medical School (also cum laude) and was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society.

Following his general surgery residency at Emory University, Dr. Bauer pursued advanced training in plastic and reconstructive surgery through a fellowship at the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical Center. The specialized skills and expertise he gained working under several prominent cosmetic surgeons led to Dr. Bauer being awarded the Nike Award for Best Cosmetic Surgery Result.

He is also a keen aviator. After intensive classroom and hands-on flying instruction, Dr. Bauer passed a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) check ride to Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) standards to earn an aircraft-specific type rating as a jet pilot.

As an instrument-rated pilot, Dr. Bauer holds an advanced qualification beyond his private pilot license. This rating allows him to operate aircraft in a wider range of weather conditions and in airspace where visibility is limited, using only the aircraft’s instruments for guidance. Most importantly, Dr. Bauer enjoys spending time with his wife and their sons.
