How Much is a Nose Job in Atlanta?

According to the medical review site RealSelf, the average price for a nose job in Atlanta is $9,291. At our practice, your rhinoplasty can range from $8,000 and up, depending on your specific needs.

Common factors that impact rhinoplasty pricing in Atlanta and surrounding areas include:

Your surgeon’s experience level

Surgical facility fees

Surgeon’s fees

Anesthesia costs

Post-procedure medications and supplies

Our pricing is always transparent and inclusive of all costs. After your consultation with one of our board-certified plastic surgeons, you will receive a complete price estimate.

Open vs Closed Rhinoplasty Cost

The surgical technique your physician chooses impacts your rhinoplasty cost—the more complex the technique, the more time and effort your surgeon must expend. An open rhinoplasty is a more challenging and complex surgery for your plastic surgeon than a closed rhinoplasty and is usually more expensive.

You can learn more about the difference between open vs closed rhinoplasty and the pros and cons of each technique in another recent blog post. At The Swan Center, your procedure is always customized to help you achieve the safest and most optimal results.

Does Insurance Cover Rhinoplasty?

Your motivation for the surgery can impact whether your procedure is covered by insurance. When rhinoplasty is performed for medical reasons, such as improving breathing function, it may be fully or partially covered by your health insurance. However, if you’re pursuing rhinoplasty strictly for cosmetic reasons, you should expect to pay out-of-pocket.

We highly recommend reviewing your insurance policy’s restrictions and pre-authorization requirements in advance. For your flexibility and convenience, we also offer rhinoplasty financing options such as CareCredit® and PatientFi to help you pay for your procedure.

Choosing a Qualified Rhinoplasty Surgeon

While cost is always an essential consideration, selecting the best surgeon for your needs is paramount. Do your homework before meeting with prospective surgeons by reading patient reviews and viewing their gallery of before and after rhinoplasty photos. During your initial consultation, ensure that you feel comfortable communicating openly with your surgeon and that all your questions and concerns are thoroughly addressed.

Schedule Your Rhinoplasty Consultation

If you’re ready to put your best face forward, we encourage you to request a consultation online, or call us at
(770) 667-0904 to make an appointment. Our team will thoroughly assess your aesthetic needs and share transparent pricing details so you can confidently plan your rhinoplasty procedure!
The post How Much Does Rhinoplasty Cost? appeared first on Swan Center for Plastic Surgery.

Our very own Dr. Dean Fardo is well known in Atlanta for his wonderful bedside manner and fantastic surgical results. But were you aware that he was once an engineer or that he considered pediatrics in medical school? We sat down with Dr. Fardo to chat about everything from why he loves plastic surgery to where he spends his free time. Read on to get to know him a little better!

What drew you to the field of medicine?

I think what first drew me to the field was the challenge of medicine in general. It’s such a diverse, challenging field, and there are so many different things you can do. Obviously, the ability to help others and do something you like to do while you’re doing it made it all the more appealing.

What inspired you to pursue the plastic surgery path?

Initially I wanted to be a pediatrician. But then I was exposed to plastic surgery when I was in medical school and knew it was what I wanted to do. To be able to combine both the precision and skill of surgery with an artistic, creative touch was very appealing. With many surgical specialties, you fix a problem or remove a gallbladder; there isn’t much freedom in how you do it. In plastic surgery, however, I don’t think any two plastic surgeons do everything the same way every time.

You may not know this, but I was an engineer before I became a surgeon. I enjoyed it, so I’d probably be doing something in the construction engineering field if I weren’t a plastic surgeon. But I can’t really imagine doing anything else. I love my work—and I love being able to help patients achieve their goals and making them happy. The gratitude of patients is pretty amazing.

Can you tell us about a patient experience that touched you?

I still remember one of my most grateful patients from early in my career; it was a woman who had lost around 300 hundred pounds. Patients who lose a significant amount of weight are still left with a lot of debilitating excess skin that not only makes them feel self-conscious, but can also cause discomfort, rashes, and difficulty moving. It took us multiple surgeries and around a year and a half to do everything, but after several procedures, she was very happy with her results. I think she is probably, to this day, still the most grateful, happiest patient I’ve had. It changed her life completely.

Are there any new or upcoming technologies or treatments that you’re excited about?

Minimally invasive and non-surgical devices, particularly those for fat reduction of skin tightening, are becoming increasingly popular because they offer limited downtime and quick results. I think this type of technology is really going to change our specialty over the next few years.

When you’re not at work, where are you most likely to be found?

With my kids at their sporting events. Whether it’s chauffeuring them around or watching them play their sports and activities, I spend most of my non-working time with them.

What do you love about Atlanta?

There are many things I love about Atlanta. It’s a great food town with so many great restaurants. It’s a big city, but it has a small town feel—and there are a huge number of things you can do. You’re close to the mountains but still just a short drive from beaches and lakes. The town is incredibly diverse, which I love.

I also enjoy the weather because we get a change of seasons. Fall is my favorite season. We’re about as south as you can get, I think, and still get a nice color change.
The post Meet Dr. Fardo, Engineer Turned Surgeon appeared first on Swan Center for Plastic Surgery.

From adolescence through the later years of life, men and women physically change at different rates. While appearance is also affected by environmental factors, there are some telling differences in the aging processes of men vs. women.

Comparing Men and Women Over a Lifetime

In a thoughtful article on gender differences in aging, writer Samantha Olson of Medical Daily notes that aging affects physical, emotional, psychological, and even spiritual health—and outlines how these changes affect men and women differently.

Puberty. Although some gender differences exist early in childhood, major physical differences first emerge during puberty. Girls enter puberty between the ages of 10 to 14, while boys experience puberty when they are 12 to 16 years old. This time period results in increased release of certain hormones, causing growth in height and weight, muscle development, voice changes, and breast development in women.

Middle adulthood. Physical appearance continues to change in middle adulthood, with the first wrinkles and gray hairs typically appearing in the 30s or 40s. Because men and women’s skin is biologically dissimilar, the effects of aging appear differently.

Some key differences in men and women:

Male skin is generally thicker and firmer due to having more collagen and elastin, so men’s skin thins at a slower rate.

Men’s facial and body hair acts as a natural barrier against sun exposure. This helps protect the skin from UV damage and can delay the appearance of fine lines.

Women over age 40 tend to experience more stress about age-related changes in appearance. In a survey of more than 1,000 adults, 33% of the women said they were concerned about weight changes, sagging, and wrinkling, compared to 21% of men.

Older age. As people move into their older years, skin becomes less elastic, contributing to the appearance of wrinkles and sagging skin. Muscle strength diminishes, causing belly pouches and droopy arm skin. Signs of aging in men typically begin with the formation of wrinkles on the forehead and loss of definition around the jawline.

Some key differences in men and women:
