I had a full tummy tuck by Dr. Fardo. I also had inner thigh liposuction.
I had the tummy tuck because I had very large children. I’m 5 foot tall and I had an 8.5 pound and a 9.7 pound baby, and they left me with some extra baggage afterwards that I needed to get rid of.
I had set myself up for hell[ish] recovery basically. So, I was prepared for the worst, and it wasn’t an easy recovery. You need to plan at least two weeks where you do absolutely nothing and you have help doing everything that you need to get done. I had somebody caring for my children; I had somebody caring for me. It was about two weeks until I started to feel human and normal again; and I’m 10 weeks, -8 to 10 weeks, right now, and I’m still healing. So, I think the full healing process can take up to 6 months. So, I think you have to be aware and not set unrealistic expectations for yourself.
Well, I’m thrilled right now – today – but, I think there’s a rollercoaster that everybody goes on. Some days you won’t like the way your scar looks, or some days you’ll feel a little swollen in some places. So you have to have the goal in mind that you cannot really judge fully for up to six months. So, today I’m happy; yesterday I might have been a little upset with how something looked, but I think it goes up and down and you can’t come out of it expecting to look perfect because nobody’s perfect in the beginning, and I wasn’t perfect beforehand. So, I’m happy with my results. I’d do it again in a heartbeat.

Thank you ever so much for doing such an EXCEPTIONAL job on my surgeries. I am really starting to see the shape coming into place. The results are better than what I expected. The scars are so minimal and aren’t even an issue—What was I so nervous about?? You truly have a gift from “Above.” Your keen eye, talent, education, and how you carefully balance your surgical technique with your experience/outcome results truly makes you a phenomenal plastic surgeon!! He has seen and done several surgeries with plenty of plastic surgeons in his career, including his own partners, and we still felt the most comfortable with you and that you would, without a doubt be the BEST!!
