I had Dr. Alderman, who I adore, and I had breast augmentation done.
Well, I’m a little anal, so I had met with three other surgeons before I met Dr. Alderman, and I had almost decided that it just didn’t feel right and I wasn’t going to do it. So the moment I walked in and met Dr. Alderman, I felt 100% at peace, I felt more like she was a friend, and the staff I just fell in love with. So it was eons above my expectations. It didn’t feel clinical or impersonal. It felt like I was with a bunch of girlfriends that were being honest and truthful with everything said.
I talked to a lot of friends and got a lot of information about what they kind of felt…just not to postpone it, honestly. Because I kept saying, “I’ll do it later, I’ll do it later, I’m not going to be selfish, I’m not going to invest that much money in myself, my kids need it, it needs to be for other things” but it was just once I did it, I was extremely excited for that date to come, and extremely pleased with the results. I never felt like I was too big, I felt like Dr. Alderman had done exactly what I wanted. So, just put yourself first.
Absolutely. I was given written information to go back through. I was mailed packets in the mail that I could kind of review at my own leisure, and it wasn’t, like “Oh, I forgot that question” just when I was at home by myself and it was quiet. I got great information from the nurses that I met with. I felt very comfortable coming back a second time to have a few other questions answered that had come up between my first consultation and before my surgery, so I felt 100% open with the staff. My nurse from the procedure called me that night, and so did Dr. Alderman, so I couldn’t have felt any more comfortable with how the procedure went.
I went with saline. No real particular reason. Maybe possibly just financial was a big contributor to that. Okay, here is my total dork moment, ‘cause we all know this story…I was really nervous about surprises and not wanting to be bigger or smaller than what I had anticipated. So I bought a bra that was an easy-to-find, off-the-shelf, Wal-mart kind of bra that I knew I liked, in the size that I was, and actually stuffed it with socks in the dressing room to make sure it was the right size. Then brought that bra in, met with one of the nurses, and we kind of worked with that bra to make sure I was going to get the size that I wanted to be. So I felt extremely comfortable before the procedure and after the procedure that I had gotten exactly what I wanted.

Dear Dr. Alderman,
Happy New Year! I hope your move went smoothly and you are enjoying your new home. It will be wonderful for your children (and they always come first). What a loss for us, though.
Thanks for referring me to Dr. Caderna. I saw him the other day—what a nice person! He was kind and seemed willing to help me whenever I’m able to schedule some surgery. We talked about you and how much everyone misses you.
Thank you, Dr. Alderman, for everything you did for me. You’re an amazing, caring doctor and an awesome person. All my best to you.

Dear Dr. Alderman,
This card is bittersweet. I hate losing you as my doctor but as a mother and grandmother I completely understand.
I am the patient you did breast reconstructive surgery on last October and then in January. We had lots of laughs during my check-up visits! (We are still enjoying our showers.)
Mike and I so appreciate your compassion you showed to us and the humbleness you bestow. God has blessed you with talent in which you are a credit to your field.
Enjoy your new environment but most of all, enjoy your children and family. Those are the absolute best things in life!
Sincerely, Linda (A.K.A. Dolly Parton)
P.S. Don’t worry, if I ever need a plastic surgeon, you will be the FIRST doctor I will call!

Dear Amy,
Just as you predicted… a little bruising around my lips… but I feel like a million dollars! I truly love my smile!
Thank you for your graciousness!

Dear Dr. Alderman,
It was an honor to have you as my plastic surgeon this past summer. You listened and that made such a huge difference to me. I know you will be missed by those you worked with and by all the patients who had the good fortune to come in contact with you.
My very best wishes to you and your family in your new location.

Dear Dr. Alderman,
This is to wish you well as you move “south”! I know you will be missed by many but all understand that family is important. Thank you for your excellent care and great sense of humor too!

Dear Dr. Alderman,
I just wanted to drop you a note to let you know what an honor it was having you as my doctor. Thank you so much for being so honest, warm, and approachable. I have never before wanted to hang out and grab a cup of coffee with any doctor, ever, and you really just made me feel that comfortable and for that I will be forever grateful. I almost feel like we went through this together because you were always a few weeks ahead of me.
Thank you, once again, and I look forward to seeing you again this summer.
With warmest regards, Nicole
